![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you are looking for lighthearted, pass on this one. I highly recommend this book with the caveat that it might not be for everyone. The ending is superb.there’s enough closure for satisfaction but still some lingering questions up for discussion. This element made for an interesting roller coaster ride of anticipation and kept me guessing which way the story would move. I was constantly vacillating between questioning Blythe’s sanity and trusting her. I saw almost nothing of myself in Blythe (main character) and I think this dichotomy is part of why I loved the book so much. After reading a few chapters, I’d put the book down and just think “Holy cow!” But my Kindle didn’t stay down for long because I was compulsively interested in what would come next. There were certain parts where I had to put the book down because it was just SO MUCH. It’s chilling and gripping and intense and I loved it. It’s more than a family drama but not quite a thriller.let’s call it a combo of the best parts of each. ![]() This book is just.WOW! It’s brilliantly written and the story is certainly original. “Surely there is a limit to how much sadness one person can hold.” I believe “The Push” answers this musing in more ways than one. Two five star books in two months is very rare as I’m very stingy in giving a full five star rating. If nothing else, 2021 has been a fantastic reading year so far. ![]()
